Try These Mattresses on For Size

Are you thinking about upgrading your mattress and gifting yourself a larger size? Sure, you could stick with the same mattress size you have, but why not go bigger?

If your family has expanded or you’ve settled into a new home, now is the perfect time to get the ideal mattress sizes that will suit everyone’s needs.

What Are the Standard Mattress Sizes?

Mattress sizes come in five basic sizes: California king, king, queen, full, and twin. There are “XL” sizes for the full and twin, and these add 5 inches to the length.

Before you start browsing, consider our mattress size chart so you can measure your space more accurately

    • Twin: 39 x 75 inches
    • Twin XL: 39 x 80 inches
    • Full: 54 x 75 inches
    • Full XL: 54 x 80 inches
    • Queen: 60 x 80 inches
    • King: 76 x 80 inches
    • California King: 72 x 84 inches

Should I Get My Child A Twin or Full Size Mattress?

Whether you get a twin or full size mattress for your child really depends on their age. If your child needs their first “big-kid” bed, then a twin mattress should do (also great for bunk beds!). But if your child never seems to stop growing, consider a twin XL for the extra leg room.

A full or double sized mattress is ideal for your teenaged or college-aged children, who need plenty of room to spread out.

What Mattress Size Should I Get?

Getting the right mattress size for yourself depends on your life stage and your room space.

If you’re getting a mattress for you and a significant other, then you want to consider a king or queen size mattress. A king size mattress gives you and a partner plenty of space to spread out, especially if your kids (or fur babies) love to cuddle with you! But if your compact space will be a little tight with a king, consider a queen size mattress so you can still move around your bed.

And if you’re shopping for just you, a queen size mattress gives all the space you need to stretch out and starfish solo!

Should I Upgrade to a California King Mattress?

Upgrading to a California king mattress depends on your available space. Cal kings are 4 inches narrower than a standard king and are 4 inches longer, which means you can still spread out more than in a queen (by 12 inches!), but with extra leg room. So, if you have a room with plenty of length, then a California king is right up your alley.
