How to dress up your Thanksgiving dinner table

    by Jordan Weber

    Dishware

Thanksgiving dinner only happens once a year, so why would you eat on everyday dishware? Make the holiday special by swapping out your dishware for a fresh look. First, pick a color(s) - cream, white, mustard yellow, burnt orange, teal, etc. The colors set the stage for the entire table, decor, centerpieces, napkins, etc. Dishware can include anything from dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, cups, to serving dishes, anything! Whether you have a large or intimate gathering, dishware is the most important piece because without it, how would you eat the delicious meal?

    Table Decor

Table decor is your time to shine. It showcases a touch of your personal-style, uniqueness, and creates the perfect space to gather with your loved ones for a meal. There are tons of options that fall under the category of table decor: placemats, name cards, napkins, glasses, etc. Don’t be afraid to really dress up your table for this special occasion with one or five table decor additions.

When it comes to decor however, the presentation is just as important. For example, start by placing a dinner plate on the table. Next, stack the napkin of your choice on top, followed by the salad plate. It not only saves space on the table for main dishes and hors d'oeuvre, it also brings each individual spot at the table together. For personalization add placeholders

    Centerpieces

Centerpieces are intended to make a statement. Whether it’s a cornucopia, pumpkins, flowers, candles, or a table runner, anything is better than nothing! What is most popular is layering. For example, start layer one with a table runner. Next, place some green garland, candle sticks, flowers or pumpkins, etc. to essentially ‘fill’ up your table before filling your tummy! A fuller table makes for a more picturesque feel that you and your family will love.

What are you adding to your Thanksgiving dinner table? Well, besides the food of course! From your Colder’s family, we hope you have a safe and healthy holiday! Thank you for dining with us.
