As ongoing tariff changes and inflation continue to create uncertainty in the market, Colder’s Furniture, Appliances, and Mattresses is stepping up to protect local shoppers from price hikes.
Despite uncertainty and changes in policies, many of Colder’s vendors have already decided to implement price increases on their products.
To combat this, the family-owned retailer, a staple in the community for over 83 years, is locking in prices on over $20 million of in-stock inventory giving customers a final opportunity to buy before costs inevitably rise.
Committed to the Community
“We want to give back to the community that has supported us for decades,” said Tom Balistreri of Colder’s.
“People rely on these products for their homes. Often, these are not just discretionary purchases, they’re necessities. We don’t want anyone in our community to feel forced to pay higher prices for things they need.”
While many retailers are raising prices amid market uncertainty, Colder’s is keeping costs low for as long as possible. Balistreri added, “While other retailers may use the current market conditions to increase prices right away, we’re doing everything we can to keep prices steady and affordable for our neighbors.”
A Limited-Time Opportunity
Rising tariff costs and inflation continue to impact the price of home goods like furniture and appliances. While policies and market conditions may change, the reality is that costs from suppliers remain elevated, pushing prices higher across the industry.
Many competitors have already raised prices in anticipation of rising costs—some even before the increases hit. At Colder’s, however, every item in stock is being kept at its current price, and the price freeze will last only as long as the inventory does. Once these items sell out, prices will adjust according to the current market conditions.
